Research Assistant

Ensuring the conservation and sustainability of marine ecosystems and the ecosystem services they provide (e.g. food, water, carbon sequestration) are key goals of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs). With rapid climate change however, MPAs may become less effective at fulfilling these goals. Amy’s research focuses on integrating climate change into existing MPA management, monitoring, and policy on Canada’s east coast by projecting shifts in species distributions and developing indicators of the ecological disruption caused by these changes.
